Italiannis-sicilian-chicken-saladItalianni’s has a new ‘extra’ surprise in pursuit of their customer’s “complete dining experience”. Every time you dine, you will be treated to some mysterious “extras”. These may be a free salad, pasta, or any of their well loved dishes.

Don’t think about it, just be surprised, like we did when they invited us last June 17 for the experience in coordination with Yehey.com. The menu consisted of Caesar salad, appetizers spinach & artichoke formagio, fried calamari and generous servings of main courses penne arrabiato and parmesan crusted fish fillet, among others. Almost everything satisfied my taste buds but my favorite in the group was the big plate of Sicilian chicken salad in partner with my kiwi shake. Yum!

So who decides what the extras would be?…the managers and staff. They check out your list of orders and thinks of what it may be lacking in some way to complete it. If your order’s missing dessert, it would be a good candidate.

This campaign started sometime May and would run until August of this year. But who knows, it might just get some ‘extra’ extension. You have 12 branches to choose from including Bonifacio High Street where we had this sumptuous lunch.

SerendraTwo days after invading the Trinoma foodscape, another food tour was sponsored by Spot.ph, this time in upscale Bonifacio High Street and Serendra.

The meeting place was at Krispy Kreme Bonifacio HS where we were treated with our choice doughnut and frozen blend Lotta Latte or ‘Orange You Glad’. We then started with Texas Roadhouse Grill, Kabisera ng Dencio’s, Starbucks, TGIF, and Italiannis. New Orleans capped the set in Bonifacio while Portico started the Serendra group.

KabiseraNewOrleansFull meals greeted us in Portico, Mezza Luna and Polu Kai Grill. Food tasting continued as offered by Cuillere, Mamou, Chelsea and Fu. Coffee break at Kape Isla and our intentionally belated dessert stops at Choco-late De Batirol, Xocolat, Miss Desserts, and Cupcakes by Sonja where we happily received a box of 4 take-home cupcakes! Yum yum! (others maximized the box space with 5 – hmm..)

Similarly in the 1st food tour post, let me personally acknowledge some which stood out.

We were filled with the generous servings of Kabisera ng Dencios and Polu Kai Grill.

PorticoCuillereRecognition for the restaurants with great interior themes and appetizing atmosphere – collectively referred to as ambience, is a giveaway since most of the spots are upscale and is expected to be so. Although many of them deserved to be mentioned, Kabisera, TGIF, New Orleans, Portico, and Mezza Luna topped the list.

Blogger friendly (informative) spots are Krispy Kreme, Texas Roadhouse Grill, Cuillere, and Miss Desserts.

Most accomodating hosts and friendly establishments are Kabisera, New Orleans, Mezza Luna, and Xocolat. At the top of this list is Polu Kai Grill; Aloha!

Spot.ph Blogger Tour
I’m excited for the upcoming Spot.ph Blogger’s Tour happening on the 25th and 28th of April. We’ll be touring some restos in Trinoma for the first day and that of Serendra & Bonifacio HS on the second. And of course, the main objective of this endeavor, food-tasting!

I’m secretly nervous on how to conduct myself since this is my first time to join a group blogging field activity. By the time I invited my writer/blogger friend, the 100 blogger slots have been filled! I’m now going to be alone amidst 100 blogging strangers (and most of them are probably professional bloggers too) while I’m a noob. This is just my second post (although I have a 3-month old travel blog – Travel-Tayo.blogspot.com, plugging)! Anyway, I know I can handle it and everything will be ok. With great tasting food who’ll not be?

Surely the sweets shops will land in this blog in the next few weeks or so. We could also feature deserving entrées from a number of dining restos, with their matching desserts! Among others, participating restaurants on Friday as per http://www.spot.ph/bloggerstour are the following:

  • Cyma
  • Cold Rock Ice Creamery
  • Fish & Co.
  • Five Cows
  • Italianis
  • Krispy Kreme
  • La Maison
  • Red Box
  • Ruby Tuesday
  • The Madison Grill

From Serendra and Bonifacio HS, here is a partial list:

  • Chelsea
  • Choco-late de Batirol
  • Cuilliere
  • Cupcakes by Sonja
  • Mezza Luna
  • Miss Desserts
  • Polu Kai Grill
  • Portico
  • Xocolat
  • New Orleans Bourbon Street Steaks & Oysters
  • Texas Roadhouse Grill

There are also non-food establishments in the line-up such as Abbey Road, Carnevale, and Luna.

Feel free to comment and share with me your experiences on the above-mentioned establishments.
